Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
